The effect of communication in the
mobilization of Tax
The traditional function of tax
system is to generate sufficient revenue to meet public sector requirements. Tax revenue is the revenue derived by government from
taxable persons to undertake its planned expenditure. It is a
compulsory payment made by taxable persons to the Revenue Agencies on behalf of government.
The
main objective of the study is to
assess the effects of communication among tax authorities and the tax payers on
compliance, and how it affects
the revenue mobilization.
The specific objectives of this study are:
1.
Examine factors that militate against revenue
officials and the taxpayers on compliance.
2.
Investigate problems encountered in taxing the formal
and the informal sector.
3.
Access the level of communication and its effects on
revenue mobilization in Ghana.
