Accessing the effectiveness and
challenges of staff appraisal system
Performance Appraisal is a major subject of controversy in
management circles. It is one of the effective systems that can provide
valuable performance information to a number of critical human resource
activities such as the allocation of rewards, (for example, merit pay and
promotions), feedback on the development and assessment of training needs,
other human resource systems evaluation (for example, selection predictors) and
performance documentation for legal purposes (Cleveland, Murphy & Williams,
1989).

2. To find out employees perception
about the appraisal system and its impact on their motivation and satisfaction.
