KUDOS TO MR. ANTHONY KOBLA ABOTCHIE
Every year many
people die or get seriously injured through road accidents, according to recent
statistics over two thousand people die annually due to road accidents which is
having a negative impact on our human resources.
With the
increasing number of road accidents in the country, it has become very
necessary to educate especially the drivers and other users of the road. The
government and other organizations are doing their very best to help curb this
problem but when it comes to creating awareness and raising the red flag on
road accidents I believe we all have a role to play and one individual who has
taken it upon himself to educate the public through his medium is Mr. Anthony
Kobla Abotchie of Classic 91.9 Fm Techiman B/A Region.
Mr. Abotchie is
the host of the late afternoon programme on classic fm called sunset drive, not
only does he play good tunes or do advertisement for his sponsors, but also use
his platform to educate and address the concerns of drivers and other users of
the road, his major concern is promoting safety on our roads. Moreover he goes
a step further by inviting experts and other stakeholders involve to share
their views and thoughts on matters arising and again he sometimes draw close
to the drivers to know the problems and challenges they face by taking his
programme to the station.
Even
though many people might not recognize the effect of Mr. Abotchie’s programme,
he is doing everything in his capacity to create the awareness on the causes, effects
and means to reduce or better still eradicate road accidents in the country,
with this I say kudos to Mr. Anthony Kobla Abotchie and the management of
Classic Fm, more grease to your elbow.
You can listen
to his programme live on Classic 91.9 or www.classicfmonline.com from 4pm -6pm weekdays.
